Florida Trip

~ From February, 12, 2013 ~

We went to Florida to visit my parents over the Mardi Gras holiday.
The kids had Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday off school, so we decided to head east.

We left Friday night around 7 pm and stopped in Biloxi, Mississippi at midnight.
The place was hopping.  It looked a lot like Vegas.  We did not realize that Biloxi is a gambling town and had never seen a McDonalds's with ten cars in the drive through so late at night.  We stayed in the Best Western across from the Hard Rock Casino and Hotel.

The next day we headed out toward Middleburg.
Biloxi was a very different town in daylight.

Later that day, we stopped in Florida at Dairy Queen for our Dilly Bars.
After all, it's tradition!

Our silliness!

Ethan kept trying to talk to me from the back seat, but I could not hear him.
He got frustrated and buried his head for quite a while in protest.

On Saturday afternoon when we arrived, Paul and Ilene came over with their girls.
The kids had fun playing with their cousins.

Jackson, Haley, Cameron, and Holden playing games on someone's phone.

On Sunday, we went to church and then spent the afternoon just hanging out
and enjoying each other's compnay.

My mom claims she has no interest in Facebook, but my dad caught her on camera
stalking the site with me and Emily.  Haha!!

Playing "500" with Uncle Paul.

On Monday morning, Pop Pop had to go teach a class on beekeeping to a group of home schooled kids.
Tristan decided to go with him.  He learned a lot about bees and had fun getting to know the kids.
I think he got stung a few times too!

Smoking the bees.

That night, everyone came over for family home evening.
Tristan gave the lesson and we played a fun game that Paul taught us called "Four on a Couch."
It was really fun and we all had a great time!

My dad has been built a totally awesome tree house in his back yard.
Jackson has been so excited to go play on it.  He has even started calling my parents Grandma and Grandpa Tree House.  The kids all had a blast on it and spent the majority of our time there outside playing on it.

We went on a walk one day and found this huge deer print on Antelope.
It does not look like it in this picture, but it was bigger than my whole hand.
It was an awesome find!

The morning before we left, Pop Pop made the boys these awesome wooden cars.
We joked about how it was Tristan's first set of wheels!
The boys love them!!

Tuesday afternoon we left Grammy and Pop Pop's house and drove down to Orlando.
