A Very Muddy Mud Run

Yesterday, Savannah went to the annual Stake Young Women Mud Run in Vidor, Texas.

I don't have too many details from her about it, so I'll have to update my post when I get them.
I stole these pictures off the Stake YW Facebook Page.

Savannah and Katie Young and Paige Anderson from the Lake Charles Ward.

What looks like a well deserved water break!

~ Tire flipping race ~

~ Sack race ~

~ Looking like she's having a blast ~

~ Down and dirty in the trenches ~

~ Cooling off in the muddy lake ~

~ Building fires ~

They sure looked like they had a great time!
Savannah was the only girl from the Jennings branch who could go.
We met some of the Lake Charles girls in Sulphur and rode with them.

The Big H

We were taking Savannah to the mud run this morning, and enjoying a caramel apple lollipop along the way.

Ethan asked me if he could have one, which surprised me, because he does not like caramel at all. He won't eat anything that has caramel in it or on it.

I passed him a lollipop and he seemed to be enjoying it.  There were no complaints, so I figured he liked it.

After a couple of minutes, he asked me if I wanted his lollipop.  I said, "You don't want it?"

Holden was sitting next to him and grabbed it right out of his hand.

"Give it to 'The H'," Holden said.

" 'The H' likes it.  'The H' will eat it!"

"The H"?  He is so funny.

Play Day

There was no school yesterday due to a Teacher In-Service.   Mrs. DeFelice needed someone to watch her daughter, Annee, so we took her for the day.

Mrs, DeFeliece gave me money to take all the kids to McDonald's for lunch, so after we picked Savannah up from her Student Council retreat, we went to McDonald's.  Tristan picked up Britney and met us at McDonald's for lunch.  The little kids loved playing in the play land and were thrilled to see some of their friends from school there too.  There were so many people there.  All of Moss Bluff was there, it seemed!

After eating, Tristan and Britney decided that they wanted to play at the play land too, but I squashed that idea pretty quickly, and suggested that we go over to the soccer park to play instead.

Tristan and Britney walked down the street to her house to grab a soccer ball. Britney came back riding her bike with Tristan standing on the pegs behind her.  They kept everyone running all over chasing the ball for a while.  Then they played on the big toy and played tag.  After that, Britney gave everyone a ride on her bike around the park and showed us her awesome tricks, which Tristan tried to replicate.  We all got some good laughs at his failed attempts!

While we were there, Tristan's friend, Jess, called saying she had locked herself out of her house and her car.  She needed to go to McNeese for a trumpet lesson and wanted to know if Tristan had any ideas for breaking into her house.  I told her that I needed to go into Lake Charles to the Scout Office to sign Ethan and myself up for the Mom and Me Camp Out and I would take her to her lesson if she would like.

So, I took Annee home because she did not want to ride with us.  I think she was tired.  Jackson and Holden rode with me to get Jess and her sister, Leanne, and were out before we even got to Annee's house.  Ethan, Savannah, Tristan, and Britney went to her house to swim for a bit before they had to go to band practice.

I came back to our house with Jess and her sister Leanne, since they were still locked out of their house.  I even loaned Jess a pair of my flip-flops because she was not wearing her shoes when they shut the door.  Tristan and Britney brought Ethan and Savannah home and picked up Jess and Leanne for band practice.

We were sitting there thinking we would have a quiet evening, when all of a sudden I remembered Ethan had open house that started in eight minutes.  And after that, he had soccer and I had a Cub Scout Den Leader Meeting!  How on earth could I forget all that?!!

Despite some of the craziness and spontaneous nature of the day, it was fun!  We had a good time and it was nice to get out of the house and play outside for a bit.  It was fun too, to get to know some of Tristan's friends a little bit more!

A Little OCD

Jackson was sent to pick up the hangers that he threw all over Tristan's room. I went to check on him and found that his OCD tendencies had taken over the task.

Shhh!! Don't point out the mistake in his pattern.  He'll have to start all over again!

Friday Night Lights

It's that time of year again!

When everyone in town shows up at the school to see the marching band perform
with a football game on the side!  Bonus!!!

We have been to two of the games so far to watch Tristan lead the band on the field.

These pictures were taken by a band parent who was up close and personal.
Looks like Tristan is having a blast at the games.

On the field with Amanda, ready to call the band to attention.

With Savannah, after the St. Louis game, the first of the season.  Savannah and I went to see Tristan in his first game as drum major and her friend, Morgan, dance at her first game as a Broncette!  Sam Houston beat the Saints for the first time since 2005.
