Stoked to be a Boarder, Dude!

Jackson is suddenly very interested in skateboarding and has been talking about it for the past few days.

Apparently he has watched a Yo Gabba Gabba
video where they talk about skateboarding
and he is all in.

I  have been confused about where the interest came from, but I figured it was from a PBS Kids show that he watched.

I guess it was the video we borrowed from the library, which has been watched multiple times by now. I'm really going to have to be more careful about the things I let him watch.

I keep getting in over my head with all the things he's learning about from the TV.  I might have to add skater mom to my list.

He has told us more than once everything one needs to know in order to have an enjoyable time on their board.

In his own words:
1.  You put your front foot on.
2.  You keep your balance.
3.  Be careful not to fall.
4.  Push off slowly.
5.  Then put your back foot on too.
6.  And then you just do it.
7.  Wear your helmet and your skateboard, your shirt and your pants, your shoes and your socks.

So there you have it!  I'm a little concerned that he might be incredibly disappointed when he gets out there and realizes it's not quite so easy-peasy!

Today is Jackson's first day of speech.  He is supposed to meet the teacher at Gillis Elementary at 8:30, but he is adamant that he can not go.  If he does, he will be late for skateboarding.  We are still working on it, but I'm pretty sure that everything will work out just fine!  He went outside to skate, but got mad at me when I came out to take his picture because he did not want anyone to watch him.

I still have about an hour to convince my little "skater" that he can "bail" on the skating for a minute and get "stoked" about speech class.  I know that once he's there he will be have a "sick" time.  There's always time for skating!
