Eat Your Vegetables

Today, I was driving in the car with Holden.  We have registered him for Pre-K at Gillis Elementary for the fall and he has testing later next week.

I have no idea what is on the test, but I have been asking him random questions to see if he is ready for the test.  I know that he is and am not worried for one moment that he won't do very well, but I've been asking him anyway.

Holden made a banana at Mother's Day Out this morning by tearing pieces of yellow construction paper and gluing them to paper in the shape of a banana.  We were talking about this so I asked him about bananas.

Me:  "Hey, Holden, what color is a banana?"

Holden:  "Yellow."

Me:  "What is a banana, a fruit or a vegetable?"

Holden:  "A vegetable."

Me:  "Oh?"

Holden:  "Yes.  Fruit have seeds.  Bananas don't have any seeds, so it can't be a fruit."

Me:  "Really?"

Holden:  "Yep..........Cookies don't have seeds either.....or cheese.  No seeds.  And cake. No seeds.  They are vegetables too."
